Calottes (also known as Knot Cups / Clamshells / Necklace Ends) are ideal for finishing off the ends of work. The knot at the end of a piece of work is placed in the cup which is then closed around it providing a neat covering. At the top of the Calotte is an integrated metal loop to attach a clasp.
These top opening Calottes require the stinging material to be threaded through a small hole in their centre and then the knot to be tied afterwards. Top opening Calottes have the advantage of being more secure than side opening Calottes
